My second stop in Europe! When picking my next country to visit my only thought was “I want to go to Belgium just to get Belgian waffle.” All I did was book a hostel, punch in where I wanted to go in the “Eurail” app, and within a few hours I was in Brussels!

Such an amazing city! Brussels really had that “European” vibe that I was searching for. Gothic architecture, cobblestone streets, and everything within walking distance. I also really loved how the city lit up at night! The Belgian waffles and chocolates definitely lived up to their fame. I think my sweet tooth led me in the right direction.

A big thank you to my new Belgian friend Alex, whom I met while playing Pokemon GO of all things. He was kind enough to show me around the city, treat me to dinner, and teach me a bit of the history and politics of Belgium, all while being extremely hospitable and helpful. I hope to see you again someday my friend!
